On October 28th, the “Summary and Commendation Conference of 2017 China Genuine Progress indicator Survey” was opened in Beijing Normal University. Associate Professor Zhou Yexin and other teachers from the School of Economics and Resource Management of Beijing Normal University such as Wang Zhimin, Tian Mengjie, Liu Yulin, Guo Saisai and Liu Qian attended the conference. The conference was presided over Peng Yujue.
The China Genuine Progress indicator Survey (CGPiS) is a national survey conducted by Beijing Normal University. The survey covers many aspects such as employment, consumption, time utilization, environment, health, fertility, social networks, and values. It is determined to build a complete database for "China Genuine Progress indicator Survey", providing reliable data support for GPI measurement and academic research. In 2017, CGPiS officially launched and completed a sample survey of more than 42,000 households, covering 29 provinces and cities across the country.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Zhou Yexin praised the performance and achievements of the investigators recruited by Beijing Normal University: 262 investigators overcame various difficulties in more than 30 days, and accomplished the sample survey of 6027 households with high quality and efficiency. At the same time, Mr. Zhou explained the speculative value of the big survey experience and its guiding significance to college students.

Supervisory representative Cao Dandan and interviewer Xie Xinyi delivered a speech and reviewed the experience during the big survey. Cao Dandan said that participating in the survey made them understand a more authentic Chinese society.
