Over the past 40 years since the reform and opening-up, along with the development of the national economy, the power industry, as an important basic industry, has developed rapidly and achieved remarkable achievements.

Lin Weibin, deputy dean of the China Institute of Innovation and Development of Beijing Normal University, and Qi Zhengping, deputy director of the Energy Information Research Center of China Power Media Group, summarize the achievements of China's power industry during the 40 years of reform and opening up. These 10 aspects are: (1) power supply capacity, (2) power grid size and service population, (3) power investment construction and structure, (4) power industry contribution to the environment, (5) power technology, (6) ) comprehensive strength and international competitiveness of power companies, (7) market-oriented reform of power systems, (8) electric power jobs, (9) power service levels, and (10) power international cooperation.

However, Qi and Lin also point out that the current problems of power reform and green development are still arduous. They believe that the power industry should resolutely implement the spirit of the report of the 19th National Congress, take the "four revolutions, one cooperation" new energy security strategy as the guide, promote green development, establish a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system, promote China's ecological civilization construction, and build a green and beautiful China.
