Abstract
With the continuous improvement of the population's health level, the phenomenon of aging has spread from particular developed countries to developing countries, and it has become a global aging phenomenon. The global aging is the coexistence of opportunities and challenges: on the one hand, the elderly are valuable human resources and one of the indispensable forces for social development. At the same time, the global aging contains enormous opportunities. The increasing elderly population has brought great demand to the economy and society, especially the demand related to aging health, which is the driving force of economic development; on the other hand, the burden of disease for the elderly, especially the burden of chronic diseases, is a significant medical expense in various countries. At the same time, family and social care costs for the elderly is also increasing, which poses a severe challenge to the social security system of each country.
Series of questions related, such as what kind of aging, what is the mode of aging, and what quality of aging, are the key point to solve aging problems and seize opportunities better. “Opportunity or Challenge: The Road of China's Active Ageing" explores the question about how to achieve healthy aging, and translates it into an action-based operation with specific implementation goals. In the end, the active aging will be upgraded to the national strategic level, the overall level, and the level of economic growth and development to achieve the goal of healthy aging in the whole society.
