主讲人介绍
梁平汉，中山大学政治与公共事务管理学院教授，博士生导师，教育部人文社科重点研究基地中国公共管理研究中心研究员。主要研究地方政府行为，博弈论，行为与实验经济学，在Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Comparative Economics，《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《经济学季刊》等国内外著名期刊发表论文近30篇，主持两项国家自科项目等课题，曾获霍英东基金会高等院校优秀青年教师奖。
内容提要
We conduct a field experiment in a typical Chinese prison to examine in-group bias of groups with a stigmatized identity. Inmates are provided with the opportunity to work for a charity. We find evidence of both pro-sociality and in-group favoritism among inmates. They increase effort when their output contributes to a charity and work even harder when the beneficiary has prisoner identity. However, inmates who have been in prison for a longer period exert relatively less efforts to help a prisoner beneficiary. Such a negative correlation is not observed when the beneficiary is an outsider. These findings highlight the importance of social interaction in the formation of in-group bias.
