On the 6th and 7th, December, “The Second Conference on Survey Theory and Practice” was hold in Chengdu. Professor Tu Qin from the School of Economics and Resource Management of Beijing Normal University, Ph.D. Zhang Jie, Chief of Research Department of China Genuine Progress Indicator Survey (CGPiS), Wang Zhimin, Chief of the Executive Department, Peng Yujue, Chief of Administrative Department, and Research Assistants Guo Saisai and Zhang Qiuyue attended the conference. The Conference was hold by Survey and Research Center for China Household Finance, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Institute of Social Science Survey, Peking University.

The Conference was divided into two parts, the keynote speeches and the parallel forums. Members from over twenty universities and social institutions with rich experiences and contributions in the area of social survey from home and abroad, such as the Survey Research Center of the University of Michigan, Institute for Economic and Social Research, Jinan University, School of Economics and Management of Inner Mongolia University, Survey and Research Center For China Household Finance, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Institute Of Social Science Survey, Peking University and the others, have exchange their experience and research outcomes in the conference.
Professor Tu Qin was making a keynote speech
In the keynote speeches, Pprofessor Tu Qin introduced the initial research results of the China Genuine Progress indicator Survey (CGPiS)——“Measuring Report of China Genuine Progress Indicator”. In the sharing speech, Professor Tu introduced the framework of China Genuine Progress Indicator, and a thorough discussion on measuring results was carried out among the researchers.
Wang Zhimin was making a statement on the forum.
In the sub-forum session, Mr. Wang Zhimin, the Chief of the Executive Department, shared the CGPiS organization and management practice and experience with members from other survey institutes.

In the afternoon of the 7th, December, Professor Tu attended the “Private Session as the 2018 Annual meeting of Sharing Platform of China Micro-data Surveys”, and discussed the forms of cooperation of data surveying with other universities. At the same time, the meeting confirmed that the next annual conference will be hold by CIID in Zhuhai, 2019.
