Abstract:
With the rapid growth of China's economy, the Particulate Matter (PM) pollution in the air (also known as haze) is also growing which has a distinct specificity. Fine particulate pollution is associated with all-cause mortality, respiratory disease mortality and cardiovascular disease mortality. It also has a direct impact on corresponding disease morbidity and the rate of hospitalization. The problem of PM pollution is concerned by all related disciplines. Cost- Effectiveness Analysis (CEA)/Cost- Benefit Analysis (CBA) is a comprehensive economic analysis that scholars apply it to analyze PM pollution policy, expecting from the whole society to examining the economic viability of governing policy. This paper reviews cost calculation, effects/benefits index setting, the analysis of result, the inadequate of methods and other aspects that may complete in future. Considering the particularity of China, we try to use CEA/CBA method taking quantitative analysis for the pollution control policy.
